Star Wars BluRay/DVD Deals & Star Wars: Rebels Trailer

Since Star Wars Day was on Sunday (May 4th), I wasn't surprised to learn that Amazon's Movie Deals of the Week all had a Star Wars connection. My daughter loves the Star Wars movies and the LEGO Star Wars episodes. My husband is also a big fan of the Family Guy Star Wars episodes, although those aren't kid-friendly.

When we watched the LEGO Star Wars: The New Yoda Chronicles episode on Sunday, we were excited to see the trailer for Star Wars Rebels which is coming to Disney XD this fall.

Amazon is offering up to 47% off either of the Star Wars Trilogies on BluRay and DVD Combo Pack (Episodes IV-VI or Episodes I-III). We have the six-pack of movies, but these are a great choice if you only need one set or the other. Both are currently priced at $31.99.

My daughter loves the LEGO Star Wars episodes. Amazon is currently offering Star Wars Lego Complete Bundle a 3 pack bundle of:
  • LEGO Star Wars: The Padawan Menace BluRay/DVD Combo Pack
  • LEGO Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out on DVD
  • LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles on DVD
The three-pack is being offered for $23.98. Only Padawan Menace was released on BluRay which is why the other two episodes are only available on DVD. The set is also available as LEGO Star Wars, The Complete Brick Saga So Far with a $19.99 season pass from iTunes that includes the new Yoda Chronicles episode that aired on Disney Channel XD on Saturday. Individual episodes are available at the same link for $2.99.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Series aired 5 seasons on Cartoon Network and a sixth season was recently released on Netflix. Amazon is offering deals on each of the first five seasons, on your choice of BluRay or DVD.

For an older audience, they are also offering the Family Guy Star Wars Episodes. My husband enjoys them, but we don't let our 8 year old watch them as the humor is more adult oriented.

LEGO Friends of Heartlake City Episodes Now Available

Do you have a LEGO Friends lover in your house? My daughter loves building with LEGO so she was thrilled when LEGO introduced the Friends line. When we visited the LEGO KidsFest, she had to get her picture taken with Stephanie who plays soccer like she does.

This past summer I found the LEGO Friends of Heartlake City New In Town videos on You Tube. She and her friends loved watching the episode. Unfortunately the episode was broken into 10 individual videos which made viewing a challenge.

This morning I was on YouTube and found that there are two new LEGO Friends episodes released by Disney Shows. Unlike New In Town, these new episodes were each released as a single YouTube video making them easier to view (22 minutes each). All 3 episodes are also available on Netflix (including New in Town in one video).

The first episode is LEGO Friends: Dolphin Cruise. My daughter was very excited about this episode when I told her the title this morning since she has the Dolphin Cruiser set which was at the top of her Christmas wish list. She can't wait to watch the episode when she gets home from school.

The second episode is Stephanie's Surprise Party. As a soccer player, my daughter likes Stephanie because she has the Stephanie Soccer Practice set.

Check out the LEGO Friends sets below:

Which is your daughter's favorite set? My daughter's is the Dolphin Cruiser.

Star Wars Book Recommendations & Star Wars Reads Day

Since yesterday was Star Wars Day (May the 4th Be With You!) and my daughter loves both reading and Star Wars, I wanted to share some of her favorite Star Wars themed books.

Additionally, it is time to mark your calendar for Star Wars Reads Day which happens each October. The 2014 event will be October 11, 2014. We have loved our experiences at our local Star Wars Reads Day.

This morning I met my daughter with news of Emperor Pickletine Rides the Bus the sixth book in the Origami Yoda series which will be released in August. Unfortunately it is the last book in the series. My daughter absolutely loves the Origami Yoda series of books and is constantly reading them. I am very glad that we purchased them instead of ordering them from the library. The first four books (The Strange Case of Origami Yoda, Darth Paper Strikes Back, The Secret of the Fortune Wookie, and The Surprise Attack of Jabba the Puppet) are available in the Origami Yoda Files: Boxed Set. The fifth book, Princess Labelmaker to the Rescue is available individually. There is also Art2-D2's Guide to Folding and Doodling: An Origami Yoda Activity Book an activity book.

Jeffrey Brown's books which portray Vader as a father to a young Luke and Leia have also been a huge hit in this house. Several friends have gone out and purchased their own copies of Darth Vader and Son and Vader's Little Princess. The next book in the series, Goodnight Darth Vader, will be released in July. She has also enjoyed his Star Wars: Jedi Academy book and is excited for the sequel Star Wars: Jedi Academy #2 which also comes out in July.

Trailer for "An American Girl: Isabelle Dances Into the Spotlight" and American Girl Deals

The 2014 American Girl Doll of the year is Isabelle, a ballerina. My daughter has both the 2011 and 2012 Girl of the Year Dolls (Kanani and McKenna). She has decided that she has enough of American Girl Dolls for now, so I don't know too much about Isabelle. She is however looking forward to "An American Girl: Isabelle Dances into the Spotlight" which will be released this summer.
Disclaimer: I am compensated for sales through Amazon & Zulily links. I appreciate your support of my blog by shopping through my links. Zulily quantities may be limited and available for a short time only.
She loved the previous two girl of the year movies: An American Girl: McKenna Shoots for the Stars and An American Girl: Saige Paints the Sky. However, her favorite American Girl movie is for the historical doll Molly which is included in the 4 Film Favorites: American Girl with movies based on Kit, Samantha, and Felicity.

The trailer below for "An American Girl: Isabelle Dances into the Spotlight" was released on May 1:

American Girl is currently running a deal for 25% off of selected sports sets. My daughter has the soccer set and loves the outfit. I think the cleats are adorable. I also bought the lacrosse set for my niece.

Zulily is currently offering deals on the Springfield Collection of clothing, furniture, and accessories for 18" dolls like American Girl dolls. My daughter has several of their outfits and loves having the extra variety. I like the look of the Pink Plush Doll Chair and the Leotard & Skirt Ballerina set.

Cash in on Your Electronic Clutter with Gazelle

Gazelle Wants to Pay You For Your Electronic Clutter Forget the coins under your cushions, how about finding dollars in your desk drawers? Last year's e-reader, the laptop with the old processor, the iPhone with the cracked screen... believe it or not, these things junking up your drawers and shelves are cash waiting to be collected. This spring, as you clean out the clutter, don't forget to trade in your old electronic devices at Gazelle.

Starting May 5th, Gazelle will pay an extra $10 for any device valued $50+ that you trade in. An iPhone 4S, for example, can fetch up to $155 on Gazelle, and with this promotion, would be $165! You'll get extra cash, your home will be clear of the chaos and you'll be doing the planet a favor! Spring cleaning doesn't have to be a chore when you turn your unused electronics into dollars at Gazelle.

We tend to pass our older devices down to our daughter so by the time she gets a next generation hand me down, they tend to not be worth much. I definitely recommend trading in your phone or other old electronics before they are too out of date to be worth much. Note that the extra $10 promotion ends on May 19.
