Home Depot Kids Workshops for Fall

Home Depot has announced their fall schedule for kids workshops. They offer a kids workshop the first Saturday of each month from 9a-noon at all of their stores. Kids Workshops are FREE! Each child will receive a craft to take home, a certificate of achievement, a workshop apron, and a commemorative pin. Registration for the Workshops is available on the Home Depot website.

On Saturday, September 7, Get Ready for Game Day and Make a Football Ring Toss Game. This is a perfect activity for opening weekend of the NFL season, or to get ready for a big college football night game.
It is Home Depot to the (Fire) Rescue on Saturday, October 5. In celebration of Fire Safety Month, children will build a Fire Rescue Plane. While supplies last children will also receive a FREE mini LEGO City Toy and Fire Safety Tips. I know if my daughter heard about the LEGO toy, she would want to get that, and wouldn't care about the plane. Unfortunately her soccer schedule will keep us from being able to attend.

Sail a Mighty Ship on November 2. Kids will build a Tabletop ship with sales at the workshop.

My daughter and I have not yet attended a Home Depot Kids Workshop, but we really enjoyed the Lowe's Build & Grow Workshop that we attended.

The Saturday, August 3 workshop is to build a Home Depot Load 'n Go Truck.

We have not yet attended a workshop at Home Depot, but my daughter enjoyed the workshop that we attended at Lowe's last year.

You can register for the workshop on the Home Depot Website to ensure that there is a space for you at your local store.

Summer Home Depot Kids Workshops

Home Depot holds a Kids Workshop from 9a-noon on the first Saturday of the month at all of their stores. The Kids Workshop is FREE and includes their craft, a FREE Kids Workshop Apron, commemorative pin, and a certificate of achievement.

The next several months will feature themed building projects at the Kids Workshop.

At the May Workshop, kids will build an herb planter with stickers from the EPIC movie and Team Energy Star and paint. The May workshop is Saturday, May 4, 2013. The workshops are designed for kids ages 5-12.

June's Workshop will be a Lawn Mower Pencil Holder presented by the Merlin Entertainment Group on Saturday, June 1, 2013. Kids will receive a Kids Go Free ticket offer to any Merlin Entertainments Group Attraction. Their attractions include LEGOLAND Theme Parks, LEGOLAND Discovery Centers, Madame Tussauds, and Sea Life Aquariums. This is a great deal if you leave near one of the venues or your summer travels will take you near one.

July will return to a movie theme with a surprise craft from the movie Despicable Me 2. The movie opens on July 3, 2013 in advance of the July 6 workshop. (Check out the trailer and look for the Despicablimp in a city near you)

We have not yet attended a Home Depot Kids Workshop, but we attended a Lowe's Workshop in the spring and my daughter really enjoyed it.

Valentine's Building Workshop

Both Lowe's and Home Depot offer building workshops for kids. The next workshop for each will is well suited to the February Valentine's Day holiday.

Both stores offer their workshop for free. Lowe's Build and Grow Workshops require signup as they are limited in the number of slots available at each store. Unfortunately my store seems to fill-up very quickly.

On Saturday, February 2 from 9a-noon kids can build a Valentine Card Holder at Home Depot.

On Saturday, February 9 at 10a kids can build a Wheel of Love. Sign up now if you are interested. My local store is already out of slots for this project (although we can drive across town).
Last spring I took my daughter to a Build and Grow workshop at Lowe's and she really enjoyed it. Unfortunately we have not returned because the store closest to us usually has their slots filled quickly. By the time I know our schedule and remember to check their website, they are often full.

If Monster Trucks are of more interest to your child, checkout these upcoming Lowe's Build & Grow Workshops.
